General principles

This project explores a new way of designing hotels through a more efficient use of space, time and services.

Rather than considering hotel rooms as fixed and single-purpose spaces, the hotel becomes an environment capable of evolving throughout the day in order to accommodate a wider diversity of needs and activities.

A hotel with multiple uses

Some rooms and suites can be opened up or reconfigured during the day to host meetings, workshops, brainstorming sessions or business seminars.

This approach increases the intensity of use of the building while offering guests and users a broader range of possibilities.

The hotel thus becomes a place for hospitality, work, encounters and exchange.

Diversified hospitality

The project brings together different categories of rooms, ranging from 2 to 4 stars, within the same establishment.

This diversity broadens the range of users welcomed, encourages a certain social mix and offers a more open and flexible experience than traditional hotel models.

Applying the EnVol research

Some rooms extend the research developed by Arkhenspaces around the EnVol concept, habitable furniture and the Living Landscape.

By making greater use of volume and height, they propose new ways of inhabiting a room, multiplying uses, postures and atmospheres while maintaining the same floor area.

The hotel room becomes a genuine interior landscape. More than a place to stay, it offers an inhabited experience in which volumes, reliefs, uses and perceptions become an integral part of the journey.

A hotel becomes a spatial and relational experience.

These investigations open up perspectives and applications that are only partially presented here.
