Engineering Structural engineering : Ingénet General principles Creation of a double volume / realisation of an inside middle height hanged garden / optimization of cupboard spaces. Low budget.
The apartment was made of a living room, one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. Now, it is made of a great volume, a bathroom and a small bedroom in a mezzanine upstairs.
The project consists of a roof space recovery, to increase the apartment volume. A small bedroom is created in an oblique parallelepiped box suspended in the global volume. Depending on the point of view, it seems to be floating in space. Cupboard spaces are optimized in the entry (simple ceiling height). The apartment entrance consists of an exiguous and low ceiling height (2,10 m) corridor which plunges into a vast and luminous volume (maximum ceiling height: 4,20 m).
Plants (ivies type) are set up halfway up all around the principal volume. They create a hanging garden. While growing, these plants will fall into the volume forming a living plant curtain, easy to modify.
